Jagua Henna is a natural product. It is a much safer alternative to black henna. There is NO PPD or harmful chemicals in our mix.
However, it is possible to have an allergic reaction to any foreign substance applied to the skin. We encourage people with sensitive skin to test a small patch behind the ear to test your sensitivity to the product.
Jagua stains can transfer very easily from one surface to another. Please be very careful not to smudge it or it becomes permanent for the next 2 weeks. The strength of Jagua Dye is really potent that it could cause transfer stains as you wash your hands during removal of paste.
Even natural products can be a source of allergen. The incidence of skin allergy with Jagua is Higher than Traditional Henna Paste. If you experience any irritation, please seek medical advice immediately.
If you are allergic to pineapple, strawberries or other tropical fruits, we’d suggest avoiding Jagua. The juice is made from unripe fruit which contains potent plant enzymes. Patch tests are recommended for sensitive individuals. Please consult a certified medical practitioner if you have concerns.
Do not apply Jagua Henna and expose it to direct sunlight/ high temperatures.
Do not apply Jagua Henna to broken or irritated skin.
Do not apply Jagua Henna to freshly waxed or shaved skin.
Keep out of eyes.If Jagua comes into contact with eyes, flush with plenty of water and consult a health care professional.
DO NOT INGEST.Although Genipa Americana (jagua) is eaten throughout much of South America, our product was not created as a food product. – If you’re taking medications, consuming large quantities of alcohol, or having known allergies should consult their doctor prior to using Jagua.
